Required Products: In order to qualify for Dinan's matching new car warranty coverage, which includes consequential damages, the vehicle must be equipped with the DINAN High Capacity Oil Cooler and High Performance Intercooler.
Shift Points: Dinan recommends up shifting at 6100 rpm as it is just above peak horsepower. After the up shift the RPMs drop into the range of peak torque. This is the "sweet spot" as it keeps the engine constantly moving from peak torque to peak horsepower and back again.
Break-in: Dinan Performance Software can be installed at any time over a vehicles life. If it is installed by the dealer at delivery Dinan suggests to strictly adhere to the BMW break in procedure.
Performance Software Stages & Upgrades: Any stage can be installed at any time and, if upgrading, just pay the price difference between the stage you currently have and the stage you are upgrading to.
Free Flow Stainless Exhaust (D660-0043 & D660-0043-BLK): An important addition for any enthusiast who wishes their car to sound as good as it performs while also supplying significant power gains itself. These exhausts are dyno tested for maximum exhaust flow with minimum backpressure. The system is designed to provide a more aggressive sound under acceleration, while reducing drone inside the vehicle, thanks to Dinan’s exclusive Helmholtz Chamber and Butterfly Valve technologies.
High Flow Carbon Fiber Cold Air Intake (D760-0034): Our cold air intake force feeds the 3 liter turbocharged inline 6 with greater volumes of cool, oxygen rich air for substantial power gains by utilizing our secondary carbon fiber intake. The system is so effective that the carbon fiber inlet air temperature is a full 40 degrees Fahrenheit cooler than the incoming air from the stock inlet. Due to the increased airflow from our intake, the power-curve is extended into the higher RPM’s for a noticeable change. The system is a direct replacement for the factory air box lid, employing a hand-crafted carbon fiber unit that also includes a secondary carbon fiber intake tube that captures cool air from the lower grill and includes the shielding for the conical filter to insulate it from power robbing engine compartment heat.
High Performance Intercooler (D330-0010B): Greater power gains are achieved with a larger high performance intercooler. The Dinan® intercooler offers double the volume of the stock unit, substantially reducing the pressure drop by 0.7 psi, as well as providing more efficient heat exchange. "Cool down" time is also reduced, enabling the cars to produce full power under varying driving conditions such as stop and go traffic. The system has been engineered as a direct replacement for the stock unit, requiring only minor modifications for a clean, factory-like installation. The intercooler also features larger connector tubing and custom shrouding for maximum efficiency.
High Capacity Oil Cooler System (D570-0822): BMW 1M comes from the factory with an auxiliary radiator smaller than a half sheet of paper. It will do little to keep the "limp mode" or heat soak away during a track day. The Dinan High Capacity Oil Cooler provides literally twice the volume of the stock unit, as well as 414 sq./in. of cooling tube vs. 112.5, and that's really just the beginning. Nicely integrated inlet ducting provides greater airflow efficiencies and the ventilation of air to the fender well has also been improved with a larger outlet.
